WashU Libraries Virtual Book Club

WashU Libraries Virtual Book Club Online

All are welcome to join us for the July virtual book club. Time moves differently in the Venice of Tracy Chevalier’s The Glassmaker, a novel that follows a family of Murano glassmakers across several centuries. Beginning in the last years of the 15th century and ending in the midst of the COVID pandemic, the story traces Orsola Rosso’s struggle to make her name in the glassmaking industry against the backdrop of the forces shaping the outside world.

A presentation of rare books related to plague in the early modern period will precede the discussion.
