Parsing Text and Image: Aspects of Symbolic Imagery in Early Modern European Print In-Person
The visual culture of early modern Europe is rich in symbolism and allegory. Join us for a special event in which three different specialists shine light on different aspects of this fascinating theme: emblem books, the connection between allegory and antiquity, and illustrated title pages and frontispieces in medical texts.
Free and open to all, registration requested.
