WashU Libraries Virtual Book Club Online
Delve into the story of Tan Yunxian, a female physician practicing in Ming Dynasty China, in our December book club.
Lisa See’s Lady Tan’s Circle of Women explores the life of this fascinating figure through the lens of historical fiction. Beginning in Yunxian’s childhood and following her through middle age, See’s novel offers a look into the lives of early modern Chinese women as well as Ming Dynasty society. A presentation of materials related to the book will precede the discussion.
