You’ve found a website with the exact data you have been looking for. Woo hoo! The only problem is, the data is presented only as tables or text on the website and there is no “download” option. Copy and pasting won’t cut it. Web scraping is a technique of extracting information from websites. This workshop will provide an introduction on using open source tools to parse and extract the information you need from a website. Basic familiarity with programming concepts and Python syntax is recommended.
