Fake News, Propaganda, and Misinformation: Learning to Critically Evaluate Media Sources In-Person
From the Fyre Festival to Fukushima daisies to "fake news," mis-and-disinformation has made its impact on both the personal and political. It's getting harder and harder to tell fact from fiction, and most of us are fooled at one time or another. One study, by Stanford University, found students and history professors were almost as equally likely to evaluate information on the Internet incorrectly. This workshop will help you spot "fake news" and you'll learn the tips and tricks needed to evaluate information more effectively.
